Schneiderian Membrane Perforation on Posterior Maxillary Implant....Nooh N

چکیده
The extraction of posterior teeth and subsequent pneumatization of the maxillary sinus compromises osseointegrated implant placement in the posterior maxilla and necessitates associated surgical procedures like sinus floor elevation (sinus lift) and maxillary ridge augmentation. Sinus lift and bone grafting is the procedure of choice when the crestal bone height (CBH) is less than the shortest available implant length and has been used, as a technique, with considerable success.1 Nevertheless, these surgical procedures are not only considered invasive to patients, but also increase the overall treatment time, especially for the commonly employed “2stage sinus lift technique”.2 Sinus floor elevation or sinus lift could be done through internal or external approach which involves elevation of the sinus lining and placement of bone graft or bone ABSTRACT

متن کاملPalatal window osteotomy technique improves maxillary sinus augmentation in previously insufficient augmentation case
INTRODUCTION Perforation of the Schneiderian membrane is the most common complication in sinus floor augmentation (SFA). When volume of grafting is qualified to prevent enlargement of the membrane perforation, lack of bone volume may occur in optimal site. CASE PRESENTATION SFA was performed in sites #24 to 26 in a 63-year-old male. However, a 10-mm size perforation of the Schneiderian membra...
متن کاملEffect of Schneiderian membrane perforation on sinus lift graft outcome using two different donor sites: a retrospective study of 105 maxillary sinus elevation procedures
BACKGROUND Sinuslift is meanwhile an established method of bone augmentation in the posterior maxilla. Aim of the study was to evaluate the significance of intraoperative Schneiderian membrane perforations during maxillary sinus floor elevation surgery using autogenous bone harvested from two different donor sites using a Safescraper device on the success rate, graft survival and implant integr...
متن کاملFlapless Transcrestal Maxillary Sinus Floor Elevation: computer guided implant surgery combined with expanding-condensing osteotomes protocol.
PURPOSE A novel technique for transcrestal guided sinus lift elevation (TGSL), is described underlining the step by step surgical protocol. MATERIALS AND METHODS TGSL modified osteotome technique was planned by the NobelProcera(®) Software Planning Programm (Nobel Guide, Nobel Biocare AB) and performed by stereolitographic template. The depth of the planned osteotomy was determined precisely ...
متن کاملA novel trephine design for sinus lift lateral approach. Case report.
Various techniques are described in the literature, either by crestal or lateral approach. Sinus augmentation has a high percentage of success, but presents a number of intraoperative and postoperative complications. The most frequent complication is the Schneiderian membrane perforation with a percentage of perforations between 11% and 56% according to authors. The aim of this study is to desc...
